Air travel is the most polluting form of travel, contributing 2% of total yearly CO2 emissions worldwide (and approx 15% from transport sector). Using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) can cut emissions by up to 94%. With current technology SAF can comprise up to approx 50% of aviation fuel blend. Airline using sustainable fuel would contribute significantly less CO2 emissions than regular airlines, and the extra cost would be covered by higher ticket prices, which are assumed to be appropriate for environmentally conscious traveler.
